Instead of random encounters, players enter the separated battle when they touch an enemy on the main world screen. On the battle screen, the game has a three-dimensional area like the world screen with a setting reminiscent of the location, where every character and enemy appear. The map screen allows instant travel between different cities and areas, or between different areas within the city. Within the world screen, the player can talk to anyone, enter buildings and other areas, or exit to the map screen. The bug I do get, some people complain about it and heard it on a review from IGN. There's this issue with ATI cards and shadow settings. One would think they would at least try once to have a RPG with open combat like Mass Effect. Gamespot mentioned some graphicas glitches that weren't eliminated when ported to the PC, plus the Square-Enix games are just too linear, imo.Īlso it seems as though they just can't build a RPG that isn't turn-based.
